Chris Coleman

Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Candidate for the Forest of Dean

Chris Coleman

Liberal Democrats are the only party raising green issues

12.23.52am BST (GMT +0100) Thu 28th Apr 2005

Having attended the Friends of the Earth public meeting in Coleford, Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Candidate Chris Coleman said: "The Liberal Democrats have raised the issue of the environment in this election campaign, both nationally and locally. We are the only one of the main parties to take any interest in this important issue."

It is true, unfortunately, that for Labour and the Tories it is the issue that dare not speak its name. No wonder when climate emissions are rising under Labour and Britain was known as the 'dirty man of Europe' when the Tories were in Government.

On the environment, the Liberal Democrats are not just the real alternative. If voters want to improve the environment we are the only choice.
