Chris Coleman to take the 26 mile Challenge!11.14.03pm BST (GMT +0100) Sun 23rd May 2010
I have again decided to take part in the Cheltenham Circular Challenge, a 26 mile walk around Cheltenham organised by the Rotary Club of Cheltenham Cleeve Vale. Two years ago, and with your support, I was proud to have completed the walk raising hundreds of pounds for Winston's Wish. This year, I will be raising funds for The Butterfly Garden. Here's what they say about their Charity… "Children & students with learning difficulties, or those with behavioural problems, can learn through acquiring gardening & land skills. Set in a quarter of an acre of land, the Butterfly Garden boasts a vegetable plot, raised beds (for easy cultivation), a polythene tunnel and an area of lawn enclosed by flower and shrub borders. A large pond and wildlife area compliment the space. The garden is serviced by a network of wide tarmac paths. A barbeque and patio, a wild bird feeding station together with a domestic chicken pen add further diversity to the provision. "To offer greater flexibility the garden boasts two classroom spaces. One is a traditional thirty seater classroom and is equipped to offer a teaching space in rough weather (and it is hoped will eventually support art, craft and drama as well as gardening). The other is in the form of an open highly shaded pergola and will guarantee generous and safe working accommodation through hot weather. 150 square metres of commercial greenhouse have also been adopted for plant raising in which we teach gardening skills. "The Butterfly Garden is located in Cheltenham." You can find out more about this excellent charity by visiting their website: http://www.thebutterflygarden.org/ I would be very grateful if you would please sponsor me to complete the walk. My target it to complete it in a quicker time - and of course to raise even more money than last time! You can sponsor me online by following the link on the left-hand side of the home page or by visiting www.justgiving.com/sponsorchriscoleman Many thanks, Chris Coleman
